Achbar Grotto was instituted in April 1910 in Columbus, Ohio. By January of 1911, their membership had grown to over 155 Prophets. In 1912, Achbar Grotto broke the record for most number of candidates at a number of 157 new members entering the Realm. In the same year of 1912, the annual Supreme Council Session was held in Columbus, Ohio.

Achbar Grotto quickly grew and made a name for themselves around the Realm.

It was often that Achbar Grotto would travel to sessions with a large delegation. For the Supreme Council session in 1924, they arrived with a delegation of 250. They came by train with their award winning units.

For many years Achbar Grotto hosted a circus in Columbus, Ohio. This circus featured many favorite acts, including animals, unicycles, clowns, and more.

Achbar Grotto has volunteered their time, efforts, and funds to benefit the central Ohio community. Some of these efforts have included volunteering at the Ohio Special Olympics, donating toys to fire departments, and contributing the the Grottoes Humanitarian Foundation, which assists special needs children in getting dental care.
At it's core, Achbar Grotto has always had a love for fellowship. From annual Christmas parties, Sweetheart's dances, bean dinners, Monarch's balls, and more, members of Achbar Grotto have found a home for having fun and fellowship.
